I have studied buddism for over 15 years and this practice has helped my to still my mind and see with an artist's eyes. Many of my paintings start with and Enso. In Zen Buddhism, an ensō (円相 , "circle"?) is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. Art in itself, also creates a still mind, the artist is lost in time during the process.
